Louise Cast

Louise is a textile artist and maker who has been sewing for most of her life. Her creations include clothing and soft furnishings, and teaches sewing and textile skills, sharing her knowledge and passion with others.
Her work is known for its bold use of colour and strong visual presence. She designs her own fabrics by creating original surface patterns which are printed onto cloth. These designs often draw inspiration from the natural world of the deep ocean and the vastness of space, transforming natural forms and textures into vibrant textile patterns.
She also creates textile artworks using techniques such as foiling, layered fabrics, free-motion sewing and mixed materials to build rich surfaces full of texture, movement, and light. These pieces combine craft and art, resulting in striking pieces that celebrate colour, texture and experimentation.
