Shay Parsons

Shay's work spans the space between painting and photography, using the camera more as a paintbrush than a simple recording device.

Her signature lies in transforming overlooked fragments of the world—boat hulls, hoarding, doorways, reeds and fossils—into soft, painterly abstractions. She's drawn to places where surfaces have been weathered and worn, and she layers colour, light and texture until decay and delicacy sit side by side.

The result is contemporary art which brings light and colour to any space.
